Brooke Trent is the founding member of Trent Law Firm, PLLC. Brooke has been practicing law in the Cedar Valley since 2007. She graduated summa cum laude from Wartburg College with a B.A. in business administration. Subsequently, she graduated from University of Iowa College of Law with a juris doctorate (J.D.) with highest honors for the Boyd Service Award. Brooke is also a former participant of the Walt Disney World College Program where she completed a practicum in human resource management and a practicum in guest service and expectations.
Brooke is actively and passionately involved in professional and community organizations. She enjoys teaching opportunities which has included serving as a presenter for organizations such as Iowa Credit Union League, Iowa Land Title Association & National Business Institute. While practicing law, Brooke has also enjoyed serving as an adjunct professor for University of Northern Iowa, Hawkeye Community College, and for Upper Iowa University’s MBA Program during various semesters. Brooke was elected to the Iowa Judicial Branch’s Judicial Nominating Committee for our judicial district and to the Iowa State Bar Association’s Real Estate Title Standards Committee. She received a mayoral appointment to serve on the Community Development Board for the City of Waterloo. Brooke has previously served as an alumni member of Wartburg College's Leadership Certificate National Advisory Board and as the chairperson for Cedar Valley's Make-A-Wish Foundation of Iowa where she was honored as "2008 Volunteer of the Year." In 2016, Brooke was awarded the "20 under 40" Award by the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier for her community activism and professional dedication. In 2019, Brooke was one of four recipients of the Young Alumni Award from her alma mater Wartburg College.
Brooke is a general practice attorney who practices primarily in the areas of business law (including creditors’ rights), real estate, estate planning (including power-of-attorney documentations, wills and trusts), probate, and elder law (including Miller Trusts, guardianships & conservatorships).
Virginia Wilber is a native of Waterloo and has been practicing law in the Cedar Valley since 2012. Virginia graduated summa cum laude from Drake University with a B.A. in journalism, international relations and a minor in French. Subsequently, she moved to New York for a communications internship with The Fellowship of Reconciliation. While in New York, she attended law school at City University of New York School of Law (CUNY). She graduated from CUNY with a juris doctorate (J.D.) and was then admitted to the New York State Bar.
In New York, Virginia participated in the International Women’s Human Rights Clinic and worked with the Nobel Women’s Initiative and the Women’s League of Burma on the International Tribunal on Crimes Against Women of Burma (March 2, 2010). She also interned with a federal magistrate judge in the Southern District of New York and with several national and local non-profits in the area of economic justice. She worked in both Manhattan and Brooklyn housing courts. Virginia was honored to receive the NY State Courts’ Access to Justice Program 2011 Pro Bono Service Award.
Virginia returned to the Cedar Valley in 2012. Prior to joining Trent Law Firm in 2016, Virginia was an associate attorney with another area law firm. Virginia has been a member of the Board of the Cedar Bend Humane Society since 2013 and served as Board Secretary from 2015-2017. She was elected to the magistrate nominating commission for Black Hawk County in 2012 and has served the community as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission in Waterloo. Virginia also serves on the Board of the Waterloo Cedar Falls Symphony and has served as an adjunct professor for business law in the MBA Program at Upper Iowa University's Waterloo Campus. In 2019, Virginia was awarded the "20 under 40" Award by the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier for her community involvement and professional achievement.
Virginia is a general practice attorney who practices primarily in real estate transactions, establishing guardianships & conservatorships, elder law (including Miller Trusts and Medicaid applications), juvenile law, contracts, business law, estate planning & probate, creditors’ rights (collections law), and general litigation.
Rebecca Feiereisen is an associate attorney with Trent Law Firm, PLLC. Originally from Strawberry Point, Iowa, Rebecca has been practicing law since 2007 in both the Cedar Rapids and Cedar Valley area. She graduated with honors from University of Iowa with a B.A. in political science. Subsequently, she graduated from University of Iowa College of Law with a juris doctorate (J.D.).
Rebecca is passionately involved in her community. Rebecca has served as president for the Sunrise Chapter of Rotary International, on the board of Eastern Iowa Science and Engineering Fair and Premier Chamber Orchestra, and as an instructor for the National Business Institute for several topics involving family law matters. Rebecca also serves on the Iowa State Bar Association's Judicial Administration Committee.

Aaron Blair, Attorney-at-Law
Aaron Blair has been practicing law in eastern Iowa since 2016. He joined Trent Law Firm as an associate attorney in 2019. Aaron is licensed to practice law in Iowa in both state and federal court and is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, Linn County Bar Association, and Black Hawk County Bar Association.
Aaron is a Texas native, graduating cum laude from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, with a B.A. in Classics and minors in Business and Art History. Subsequently, Aaron earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, where he graduated with the Distinguished Service Award. During his law school tenure, Aaron served as President of the Federalist Society and as Editor-in-Chief of the Houston Business & Tax Law Journal.
Aaron is an active member of various professional organizations. He has served as an Executive Council Member of the ISBA Young Lawyer Division, and is active in the Parental Leave Task Force. Additionally, Aaron has served as a council member of the ISBA Real Estate Section Council and as the Secretary the Linn County Bar Association Linn Law Club.
Just as he strives to serve clients and their needs, Aaron enjoys serving his local community. Aaron serves as Co-Chair of "Friends of Music at Coe" at Coe College, and as President of the Board of Directors for Premier Chamber Orchestra. In 2017, Aaron participated in the Leadership for Five Seasons program through the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance.
Aaron is a general practice attorney who practices primarily in estate planning (including wills and trusts), business law, probate administration, elder law, real estate, and civil litigation. Serving as a legal counselor and trusted advisor to each client, Aaron prioritizes consistent communication and responsiveness. Aaron strives to empower each client to make informed decisions to advocate their positions, whether in regards to their personal lives, family matters, and business goals.
Amanda serves as the operations manager and a legal assistant for Trent Law Firm, PLLC. A Waverly native, Amanda graduated cum laude from Upper Iowa University with a B.A. in Business Administration. Amanda has extensive client and customer service experience. She has worked in a variety of industries including direct sales and marketing, the financial sector, mortgage lending, and legal services. She previously worked with Attorney Trent and Attorney Wilber at another area law firm where her focus was exclusively real estate transactions. Amanda has served on the Board of Directors for the Cedar Bend Humane Society and has been an active volunteer in supporting area youth sports.
In her role as operations manager, Amanda plans, directs and coordinates the daily operations of Trent Law Firm. She strives to insure and improve the efficiency of firm operations through effective methods and strategies. In her role as legal assistant, she works alongside attorneys on a variety of matters including business formation (corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies), real estate matters (real estate closings, title review, title objection clearance, real estate transfer documents, farm sales and auctions, rental agreements, real estate purchase agreements & disclosures, and FSBO transactions), creditors’ rights (collections, small claims, civil lawsuits and litigation) and probate matters (estate planning, probate administration, trust administration, guardian ad litem, guardianship and conservatorship administration). Amanda is passionate about the legal field and enjoys expanding her knowledge base to better assist our clients in all legal matters.
Malynda Arnold serves as a legal assistant for Trent Law Firm, PLLC. She works alongside each of our attorneys on a variety of matters with a focus on family law (including dissolution of marriage and child custody matters), estate planning, real estate transactions, and creditor’s rights (including collections).
A native of Waterloo and an alum of Columbus High School, Malynda graduated cum laude from Wartburg College with a B.A. in Business Administration and a minor in Fine Art. Subsequently, she earned a Master of Fine Arts with Distinction from the University of Lincoln, United Kingdom.
Malynda has served as a legal assistant at other law firms in both Waterloo and Davenport, Iowa, and has previous experience as a team manager in a customer service setting. Her experience has refined her client service skills, and she strives to provide practical and attentive care to clients daily.
Emily Sheerer, Legal Assistant
Emily Sheerer serves as a legal assistant for Trent Law Firm, PLLC. She works alongside each of the firm’s attorneys on a variety of matters including establishing guardianships, conservatorships and Miller Trusts, creditor’s rights (including collections), estate planning, real estate transactions, and family law.
A native of Waterloo and a graduate of East High School, Emily has extensive experience working in banking, accounting and customer service industries. Her dedication to both detail and customer service enables to her to provide clients with responsive and attentive case management.
Paige Grohn, Receptionist
Paige Grohn serves as receptionist for Trent Law Firm, PLLC. A native of Marquette, Iowa, Paige graduated from Hawkeye Community College with an A.A.S. in Legal Office Assistant program where she gained expertise which she uses daily in her duties as receptionist.
Prior to joining Trent Law Firm, Paige acquired extensive customer service experience at an area medical center and business. Her background has prepared her to provide attentive and practical care to our clients as their initial point of contact.

Part-Time Property Manager
Thank you for your interest in applying for the Part-Time Property Manager!
Responsibilities include cleaning (routine and deep cleaning), running errands, handling general maintenance issues (including problem solving to determine issues necessary, lifting up to 25 lbs., climbing ladders, etc.), and communicating via phone, in-person and email with certain vendors, coworkers and clients. Strong performance at this position will lead to further responsibilities at firm.
Necessary skills include excellent attention to detail, demonstrated experience with maintenance issues, ability to keep track of multiple tasks, known as a "go getter," self-directed, strong written & verbal skills, and desire to stay at position for at least two years (which means only first or second year students are requested to apply). The schedule has flexibility but a successful candidate must be able to work about 10-15 hours per week with a possibility of obtaining additional hours. Pay and benefits are negotiable.
